Malaysia Flight 370 Mystery

The wild speculations and conspiracy theories that surrounded the sudden disappearance of the Malaysia Flight MH370 in the early morning hours on March 8, 2014 over the South China Sea. Despite an extensive 10 nation sea and air search for 6 consecutive days, the Boeing 777 aircraft with the most sophisticated communications equipments and 239 people on board simply could not be found anywhere on earth. The wild, sometimes absurd theories ranged from shooting down by a military missile, blowing up by onboard terrorists, striking by a powerful meteor which broke the plane into tiny pieces, and hijacking by some alien forces and diverting it to some invisible home base on earth.

While authorities could not rule out hijacking or a bomb, they seemed increasingly skeptical that foul play caused its disappearance. One clue seemed to have come from Malaysian officials who initially insisted on saying the plane did not crash but safely landed in some mysterious place.
