Canada Day celebrates the the union of three British colonies (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Province of Canada) into what is present-day Canada. The British North American Act was enacted on July 1, 1867, and has since been celebrated every July 1st with fireworks, music concerts, parades, barbeques and carnivals.
